COMMITTEES Pastoral Relations - Already covered under our Constitution, consisting of 7 persons elected on a rotating basis, 2 each of 2 years, 3 in a year, each for a 3 year term. Building and Grounds - Purpose: this committee would be responsible for building and grounds maintenance and upkeep, landscaping/lawn work, coordination with Day Care on lease issues, policies on use of building by outside groups (Scouts, AA), coordination w/ pastors and committees on special events, and so forth. Composition: 4 members, elected for 2-year terms on a staggered basis (2 elected each year). Can be reelected once. Mission and Outreach - Purpose: Already a Ministry Group, as a standing committee it would be responsible for OCWM, our Homeless ministries, other missions, outreach ministries, etc. Composition: 4 members, elected for 1 year term but can be reelected for an additional 2 terms Christian Education and Evangelism - Purpose: This would be the committee that dealt with issues on Christian Education (Sunday school, UCC Education, Confirmation, and any seminars); Would also coordinate different Evangelism efforts; In addressing matters under the Committee's cognizance, would coordinate with pastors, minister of music, Mission & Outreach, daycare, and others. Composition: 6 members, elected to 2 year terms on a rotating bases (2 elected each year). May be reelected once. Membership Care and Growth - Purpose: This is where we "take care of ourselves" and would coordinate new member orientations, the various fellowship ministries, caring ministries, and our stewardship program. Would work with Christian Education and Evangelism on the Confirmation program, and on any educational components of fellowship efforts. Composition: 4 members, 2 elected each year for 2-year terms, may be reelected once. Worship Support - Purpose: This would be the Committee responsible for "Sunday Morning logistics" - Ushers, Acolytes & offering; Liturgists; the Altar (flowers, etc); Communion, refreshment coordination, and so forth. Composition: 4 members, elected for a 1-year term, and may be reelected 2 times. |
